Five suspected insurgents who defied prohibitory orders and approached an Army camp in Nuwakot were shot dead on November 28. Besides, an insurgent was killed in Namsaling, Ilam district, on November 29, and two more in Jhapa and Accham, on November 27. Reports said security forces (SF), on October 28, launched blocking and search operations to prevent Maoist insurgents from fleeing following the former repulsing an attack by latter on the Rumjatar airport in Okhaldungha district, on October 27 night. Reports also said at least 32 Maoist insurgents were killed in SFs counter-offensive, and many more are feared killed or injured. SFs employed a night vision helicopter in the counter-offensive. Latest reports also added that Capt. Dinesh Thapa was among two army men killed in the incident. Reports also said the insurgents failed to snatch any weapons in the clash. Besides, SFs recovered 12 .303 rifles, bullets and spares of stolen automatic weapons, grenades, socket bombs, hallucinating drugs, etc from the insurgents.
