At the same time, several fighters of AFF were arrested. Taliban Ministry of Defence said that several arms and ammunition were also seized during this operation. An unnamed source, meanwhile, claimed that five Taliban fighters were also killed during the fight.

In a press release issued on December 1, the National Resistance Front (NRF) claimed that four Taliban fighters were killed and two others were injured in the overnight gunfight that took place in the Khum-Zargar area of the Hesa Awal-e- Kohestan District in Kapisa Province, reports Hasht-e Subh Daily. The NRF further claimed that they gained possession of three weapons and a Ranger vehicle belonging to the Taliban. As of now, the Taliban have not issued any statements regarding this incident.

In response to this incident, protesters demanded an immediate end to targeted killings of Hazaras and swift apprehension of those responsible. While the exact cause of the conflict remains uncertain, the local Taliban officials have adamantly denied any internal strife. Abdul Sattar Halimi, spokesperson for the Taliban’s security command in Jawzjan, clarified that the clash occurred between armed individuals and forces affiliated with the second brigade of the 209th Shahin Corps. Three individuals, yet to be identified, lost their lives in the confrontation, while another managed to escape the scene.
