Further, five civilians were abducted by the insurgents from the Narayansthan Village Development Committee (VDC) area in Okhaldhunga district. Similarly, the insurgents have reportedly abducted over 100 civilians, including 61 villagers from Kuldebmandu area of Bajura district and four persons each from all nine wards of Gajari VDC in Doti district in the last few days.

According to Nepal Samacharpatra, three Maoist insurgents and two security force (SF) personnel were killed and an unspecified number of people were injured during a clash between the SFs and Maoists at Dandakharka Village Development Committee (VDC) area in the Makawanpur district on October 6. Maoists have claimed that they had captured a large amount of arms from the SFs, including one SLR, one thousand rounds of bullets, six magazines, four grenades and two shells of two-inch mortar from the incident site. The slain insurgents were identified as ‘assistant platoon commanders’ Tshiring and Ramesh and ‘section commander’ Hunkar. This is the second clash between the two sides after the three month unilateral cease-fire announced by the Maoists on September 3.

The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee member, Arjun Narsingh, said, "The country's major problems are violence, exclusion and autocracy... The announced election is just a move to confuse international community on the pretext of a democratic exercise." Reports quoting the Eastern Pritana (divisional headquarters) of the Royal Nepalese Army said that clash occurred after a group of insurgents lobbed hand grenades at a security patrol at Limbu Chowk.
