According to a statement issued by Defence Ministry on April 7, 24 Maoist insurgents were killed in separate encounters in different parts of the country. 13 Maoist insurgents were killed in encounter in the jungles of Kothiyaghat area, Bardia district. The statement said the Maoists were involved in the ambush of security force patrol at Kotiyaghat on April 6.
