One militant of Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCNK), identified as ‘corporal’ Cheimang, was arrested from Mon Town in Mon District by Assam Rifles (AR) on January 10, reports the Nagaland Post. One .22 mm pistol along with ammunition and some other indoctrinatory documents were recovered from the arrested militant. According to the security sources the militant groups having bases in Myanmar have started using different routes of Arunachal PradeshMyanmar border to enter into the North East region, reports The Assam Tribune on January 15. Earlier, NagalandMyanmar border was considered to be the most vulnerable. Sources said that though some militants are still sneaking to the country through Nagaland, most such infiltrations are taking place through Arunachal Pradesh which is considered to be a peaceful state.
