The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres vandalised a forest beat office and injured two of its guards at Gatta Jambia village in Etapalli Taluka (revenue sub-division) of Bhamragarh division in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on June 10, reports The Times of India. A Police official said around 15 armed Maoists reached the forest office and assaulted two forest guards identified as, Govinda Dohtare of Gatta Beat and Raju Zore of Kunjemarka Beat. They decamped with the guards’ personal belongings including mobile phones and also set ablaze a two-wheeler belonging to one of the guards. The Maoists seemed to have carried out the attack to protest against the construction of a road connecting to the remote village in the District, the official added.
