Two members of a family, including a 10-year-old girl, were injured in overnight shelling by the Pakistan army violating the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) along the Line of Control (LOC) in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on April 15, reports Daily Excelsior. A mortar shell from across the border hit the house of Nazir Hussain at Lamibari village in Rajdhani area in Manjakote sector, resulting in injuries to two persons. The officials said, the injured Rafiq Khan (70) and Sonia Shabir – were rescued by a Police party headed by Station House Officer (SHO) of Manzoor Kohli Police Station amid intense shelling and shifted to District hospital Rajouri.
Meanwhile, Pakistani rangers also shelled areas along the International Border (IB) in Hiranagar sector in Kathua District of J&K on April 14-15, causing panic among border residents, reports Daily Excelsior. The firing and shelling in Chandwa area of Hiranagar began at around 9.30 pm yesterday (April 14) and continued throughout the night, officials said, adding Border Security Force (BSF) personnel retaliated effectively. The guns fell silent around 4 am.
