The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), a constituent party of the Government on February 25 decided to reject the final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) to investigate and inquire into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, reports Colombo Page. The Executive Council of the SLFP which met at the party headquarters has taken the decision to reject the report of the Presidential Commission appointed by the former President and SLFP leader Maithripala Sirisena. The final PCoI report has recommended Attorney General to consider instituting criminal proceedings against former President Maithripala Sirisena and his intelligence chiefs for failing to prevent the attack on 21 April 2019 despite receiving clear intelligence on a pending attack. Accordingly, the Executive Committee of the SLFP decided to re-appoint former President Maithripala Sirisena as the Chairman of the party.
