Five cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), including a couple, surrendered to authorities in Sukma District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on June 3, reports devdiscourse.com. The surrenderees have been identified as Madkam Pandu, his wife Ravva Bhime, Tati alias Madkam Masa, Komram Dula, and Muka Sodhi alias Shekhar. Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Chavan reported that Pandu, who had a reward of INR 800,000 on his head, served as the ‘deputy commander’ of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) battalion number 1 supply team and was a member of the People's Party Committee (PPC). Others who surrendered included Bhime, a PLGA member with an INR 100,000 bounty; Masa, a medical team in charge with an INR 500,000 bounty; Dula, with an INR 200,000 bounty; and Shekhar, a member of the South Sub-Zonal Bureau Press team with an INR 100,000 bounty. Each of these individuals had been part of multiple violent incidents.
