Unknown gunmen killed a prominent religious scholar Mawlavi Shabir Ahmad Kamawi in Kabul city, The Khaama Press reports on May 26. The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said that Mawlavi Kamawi was one of the prominent religious scholars of the country who had invested most of his time for peace in the country.
Meanwhile, at least 10 persons were injured when a magnetic Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast targeted a bus carrying employees of the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs in Kabul city on May 27, reports Tolo News. According to the Ministry, the blast occurred in Kabul city’s PD2 in Parwan-e-Do area. At least 10 people were wounded in the blast, the Ministry of Interior officials confirmed.
Separately, a Police source of Kabul stated that the Kabul 5th Police Zone personnel with cooperation of National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel discovered and neutralised a planted mine in 5th zone police of Kabul, bakhtarnews.com reports on May 27.
