Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ramchandra Paudel on February 19 accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of betraying the people and country by dissolving the House of Representatives (HoR), reports The Himalayan Times. Addressing a programme organised in Dharan, Paudel said the PM had deceived the people and country by failing to resolve the intra-party rift in his party and dissolved the Parliament for his personal benefit. Poudel also accused Oli of harbouring arrogant ideas and policies. "People had handed majority vote to the Nepal Communist Party (NCP). Oli squandered that mandate and dashed people's hopes and aspirations," Paudel added. He charged that the PM and President Bidya Devi Bhandari's unconstitutional and undemocratic move had put the constitution into jeopardy. Paudel warned if the Supreme Court did not revive the Parliament, county would plunge into deep political crisis. He made it clear that free and fair election was not possible under KP Oli's leadership. "The country will get back on track only if Supreme Court reinstates the House," he added.
