The Gadchiroli Police arrested two top female Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, identified as Kajal alias Sindhu Gawade (28) and Geeta alias Sukli Korcha (31), and one ‘jan militia’ (people’s army of the Maoists) member, identified as Pisa Pandu Narote, from the dense forests of Mauja Javeli in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on April 7, reports The Free Press Journal. The Government had announced reward of INR 200, 000 each on the arrest of Kajal and Geeta, a reward of INR 150,000 on the arrest of Pandu Narote. Both, Kajal and Geeta, were directly involved in planning ambush and an exchange of fire between the Police and Maoists in which an officer and one commando of C60 were killed. Pandu Narote was in charge of bringing rations to the Maoists, performing sentry duty, hiding the Maoists' weapons in secure locations, providing information to the Maoists through reconnaissance about Police movements, distributing Maoist pamphlets to the public, and undertaking other subversive activities. He was also involved in three cases of murders.
