The cadres of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) created ruckus by blocking the Raipur-Deobhog National Highway (RDNH) number 130 Gariabandh District of Chhattisgarh on May 20, reports livehindustan.com. Maoists had blocked roads at three places by cutting and felling trees between Rajapadav, Kodomali and Dhurvagudi Budgeltappa within a 15-kilometres radius of Mainpur area of the Gariabandh District. The cadres of the Odisha State Committee (OSC) of CPI-Maoist had also thrown pamphlets and put up banners to protest against the installation of tourist places, mobile towers, bridge-culverts, roads and opposing the opening of Police camps. The CPI-Maoist had also called a Bandh (general shutdown strike) on May 20 in Gariabandh, Dhamtari, Kondagaon and Mahasamund Districts of Chhattisgarh to provide electricity, water, hospital, school-college, water for irrigation and uprooting of imperialism, brokers and capitalists who looted the mineral wealth.
