A cadre of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), identified as Aitu Korsa, an ‘area committee member’ (ACM) of Kandhamal-Kalahandi-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division, surrendered before Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Northern Range, Sambalpur, Deepak Kumar and Bolangir Nitin Kusalkar in Bolangir District of Odisha on August 1 (today), reports Odisha TV. Aitu is a resident of Mankelli village under Gangaloor Police Station limits in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh. However, he was active in several division of the Maoist party in Odisha. DIG (Northern Range, Sambalpur) Deepak Kumar, said, “He (Aitu) has been working in the State since the last eight years. He had earlier worked in the Bolangir, Bargarh and Mahasamund (BBM) division of the CPI (Maoist) and later joined the KKBN division. The State government's surrender and rehabilitation policy for the Maoists are encouraging these cadres to surrender.”
