A combined team of Dummugudem Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel arrested a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ‘militia deputy commander’, identified as Karam Venkatesh alias Venka (27), while checking vehicles at Paidigudem village in Bhadrachalam Agencyin Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on March 2, reports The Hindu. Karam Venkatesh was a resident of Sakileru village in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh.
A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) Dalam (armed squad) member, identified as Punem Adamaiah alias Ganesh (21), surrendered before Superintendent of Police (SP) B. Rohit Raju in Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on March 2, reports The Hindu. Adamaiah, a native of Adavi Ramaram village in Allapalli Mandal (administrative division) of Bhadradri Kothagudem District, worked as a ‘courier’ for Maoists for a few months before joining the ranks of the Maoists as a Yellandu and Narsampet Dalam member in early 2023. He had quit the banned outfit and joined the mainstream to lead a normal life.
