Unidentified assailants carried out a grenade attack on the vehicle of a Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) in Sateen area of Kurram District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on September 27, reports ARY News. However, DSP along with six Policemen escaped unhurt in the grenade attack. The assailants managed to flee from the scene.
The KP Government published a report on Progress of Terror Financing Cases which said 198 cases were registered against financial supporters of terrorists between January and September, The Khorasan Diary reported on September 28. Majority of cases were registered in Peshawar (71) and Khyber District (67). Overall, 777 people involved in terrorism financing were named while 245 were arrested by authorities and 15 killed in operation.
A key faction of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) on September 27 issued a stern statement based on sectarian pretext in Pakistan, reports The Khorasan Diary. Drawing from sectarian language, the group has made references to a series of alleged incidents of sectarian nature across Pakistan, vowing to carry out attacks in retaliation.
The TTP claimed that a new militant outfit led by Omar Malang Kundi from Tank District has joined them,The Khorasan Diary reported on September 28. Over 40 groups have joined the TTP so far since 2020.
