At least four Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres were claimed to be injured in the encounter that took place between District Reserve Guards (DRG) personnel and the CPI-Maoist near Kanhaiguda area under Konta Police Station limits in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on April 21, reports The Times of India. Acting on a tip-off regarding the presence of Maoist ‘commander’ Kosi and Mangdu at Belpochcha, Nulkatong Gompad, under Konta Police Station area of Sukma, the DRG team had went for a search operation in the area, and the Maoists opened indiscriminate fire on the DRG personnel when the latter reached Kanhaiguda. In the exchange of fire, four-five Maoists were reportedly injured, said Sukma Police.

A tiffin bomb was recovered from him.
Five Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) camps were busted in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on April 21, reports Outlook. A Police official said the Special Task Force (STF) was out on an anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operation in the jungles of Tekmeta, Marwara, Sagmeta, Bade Kakler, Chhote Kakler and Pillur under Farsegarh Police Station limits following specific inputs about the presence of 25 Maoists along with senior functionaries of the 'National Park Area Committee' of the CPI-Maoist outfit. "An improvised explosive device was found in the Pillur jungle and was defused. We have recovered explosives, detonators, Naxalite uniforms, literature, medicines, chargers, tools and materials of daily use from five camps that were busted," the Police official said.
