A Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) trooper, identified as Constable Rahul Chelak, was injured in an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast triggered by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) at a forest between Dhanora and Orchha under Orchha Police Station limits in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on June 23, reports The Pioneer.
Separately, a joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG), neutralised a Maoist transit camp and recovered a huge quantity of explosives, including IEDs and rocket launchers, from Dengalputti forest under Orchha Police Station limits in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on June 23, reports The Pioneer. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sundarraj. P said, on receiving specific inputs about the presence of Maoists in Ghattekal-Dengalputti-Paiveyar forests in Abhujmad, the SFs launched a search operation on June 21, and came upon the transit camp. While the SFs were encircling the area, Maoists sensed their presence and escaped, leaving behind the explosives and materials of daily use, the IGP added.
