An Assistant Commandant of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 197 battalion, Rudra Pratap Tiwari, was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion near Patatorab village under the Tonto Police Station area in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on July 24, reports The Print. The incident happened when Security Forces (SFs), comprising the CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ), and District Armed Police (DAP), were on an anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operation in the area. The IED, planted by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, went off, injuring Assistant Commandant Tiwari, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar said, adding that Tiwari received injuries from the splinters and that his condition is stated to be stable.
