The Tripura Police have said that Liton Nath (40), a petty trader of Damcherra area who was abducted by suspected National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) militants, has been killed by his abductors, reports The Assam Tribune on January 17. Liton was abducted on November 27 last year. According to the Police, when his abductors failed to extract any ransom from his family, they killed him and then buried his body at a desolate place called Ranibari between Damcherra and Khedacherra in North Tripura District. The Police got this information from four NLFT militants arrested from Takarjala in Sepahijala District on January 12. During interrogation, the accused confessed to have killed Liton. Earlier, SATP had reported about the arrest of four NLFT militants from Takarjala in Sepahijala District of Tripura on January 12.
