The Norwegian Refugee Council’s (NRC) Country Director in Afghanistan, Neil Turner, said that the Taliban evicted thousands of displaced Afghans and demolished informal settlements, making more than 6000 Afghans homelessin Kabul Province, reports abcnews.com on June 4. He said, “I am deeply shocked by Sunday’s forced eviction of around 6,000 internally displaced people in the capital. These are some of the most vulnerable communities in Afghanistan.”
On June 3, Rustam Emomali, speaker of Tajikistan's Parliament, said that the spread of religious schools in Afghanistan poses a threat to members of the Collective Security Organization (CSTO), reports Afghanistan Internationals. He said, “Afghanistan has once again become a center of terrorism. Dozens of extremist and terrorist groups have strengthened their positions on Afghan soil. The cultivation and production of narcotics in Afghanistan are increasing.” More than 1000 religious schools have been established so far, which “train suicide fighters,” he added.
On June 4, National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested an accused identified as Riyaz Yousaf Haarali alias Riyaz from Mumbai Airport in Maharashtra, in connection with the Praveen Nettaru murder case in Karnataka in July 2022, reports NIA. He returned to India from abroad on the directions of an accused absconder, Abdul Rahman. Riyaz along with Mansoor Pasha, another accused in the case, was involved in providing logistic support and a safe hideout to Mustafa Paichar, who is the ‘secretary’ of Popular Front of India (PFI), Puttur District service team, and a chief conspirator in the case. Both Mustafa Paichar and Mansoor Pasha were earlier arrested by NIA on May 10, 2024, from Sakleshpura in Hassan District of Karnataka. Since NIA took over the case on August 4, 2022, it has charge-sheeted against 21 accused persons and taken 19 into custody.
On June 2, Security Forces (SFs) discovered a cache of weapons hidden at a hideout in Tamlok village under Nungba Police Station in Noney District of Manipur, reports Northeast Now. The recovery included two Carbine Machine Gun with two Magazine, two 9 mm Pistol with Magazine, three 32 mm Pistol with Magazines, one Revolver, one Chinese Hand Grenade, one Vintage Grenade based Improvised Explosive Device (IED) with IED-making materials., one Detonator, twelve live rounds and one Communication Radio set.
Border Security Force (BSF) announced on X (formerly Twitter) that nearly INR 20 million of drug money was recovered during the raid from an unidentified drug trafficker involved in cross-border narcotics smuggling in a border village in the Amritsar District of Punjab on June 4.
Five cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), including a couple, surrendered to authorities in Sukma District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on June 3, reports devdiscourse.com. The surrenderees have been identified as Madkam Pandu, his wife Ravva Bhime, Tati alias Madkam Masa, Komram Dula, and Muka Sodhi alias Shekhar. Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Chavan reported that Pandu, who had a reward of INR 800,000 on his head, served as the ‘deputy commander’ of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) battalion number 1 supply team and was a member of the People's Party Committee (PPC). Others who surrendered included Bhime, a PLGA member with an INR 100,000 bounty; Masa, a medical team in charge with an INR 500,000 bounty; Dula, with an INR 200,000 bounty; and Shekhar, a member of the South Sub-Zonal Bureau Press team with an INR 100,000 bounty. Each of these individuals had been part of multiple violent incidents.

A Policeman assigned to polio workers protection duty was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Suleman Khel area of Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on June 4, reports ARY News. Policeman, identified as Shahnawaz, was killed in Suleman Khel area when he was going to perform his duty. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the killing.
The dead body of a veterinary doctor, Dr. Arif, who was kidnapped on June 3 from Tank District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was found on the morning of June 4 near a graveyard, reports The Khorasan Diary. Dr. Arif was kidnapped by unidentified assailants who called him to their village for treatment of ill animals, said Police.
In a gazette issued by Sri Lanka’s Secretary of Defence, General (Retd.)
