Eleven personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the State Police were injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Seraikela Kharsawan District of Jharkhand in the early hours of May 28 (today), reports The Hindu. The blast took place around 5 a.m. when a joint team of the CRPF’s special jungle warfare unit, Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), and the State Police was carrying out an operation in the forests of Kuchai area in the District. The injured troops, eight of the CoBRA and rest belonging to the State Police, have been airlifted to State capital, Ranchi, Police said. No further details of the attack were available at the time of reporting.
