Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the Security Forces (SFs) carried out two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) on terrorist hideouts in North Waziristan. Two terrorists "including an IED (improvised explosive device) expert" were killed in the raids. During an exchange of fire with the militants, three soldiers were killed. However, there were no traces of him since then. According to a statement issued by the ISPR, terrorists fired at a military post in the area, following which army troops initiated a prompt response and "effectively engaged the terrorists' location". Four Army soldiers were killed in an exchange of fire with terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 31, reports Dawn. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Security Forces (SFs) conducted an IBO on the reported presence of terrorists in the area. During the raid, an intense exchange of fire ensued between the terrorists and the troops, as a result of which four soldiers were killed. The dead soldiers were identified as Havaldar Munawar, Sepoy Zaka Ullah, Sepoy Farhan and Sepoy Sheraz.
