Security forces killed two insurgents each in the Bardia and Terathum districts and at Bhirkot in the Kathmandu valley. One Maoist each was killed during separate encounters in Banke, Kaski, Dhading and Udayapur districts. Further, one police personnel and a civilian were injured in a bomb explosion while attempting to defuse the bomb at Fatehpur Village Development Committee (VDC) area in Seeshaiya. On the same day, seven insurgents surrendered before Government officials in separate districts.

Meanwhile, the insurgents have reportedly abducted 60 teachers from their homes in the Singnam Village Development Committee (VDC) area of Taplejung district on April 13.
