On May 5, a Rohingya man, identified as Noor Kalam was hacked to death after being abducted by armed assailants from a refugee camp in Ukhiya Upazila (Sub-District) in Cox’s Bazar District of Chittagong Division, reports The Daily Star. Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Shamim Hossain confirmed this and stated that the killing is primarily believed to have taken place over disputes centring on drug trafficking and establishing supremacy in the camp.
On May 5, a Rohingya man, identified as Zafar Ahmad was shot dead in Camp No. 20 in Ukhiya Upazila (Sub-District) in Cox’s Bazar of Chittagong Division, reports Dhaka Tribune. Ukhiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Shamim Hossain confirmed this killing and said that Zafar was abducted from his second wife's house, and shot dead by armed men.
On May 5, a ‘camp commander’ of United Kuki National Army (UKNA) identified as Thangminlal Haokip (39) alias Hunter alias Tamin was shot dead by his own bodyguard at Geljang village in Old Nabil near Leimatak, under Henglep Police station in Churachandpur District of Manipur, reports The Sangai Express. Sources stated that Thangminlal Haokip was allegedly involved in the attack on oil and gas tankers on Imphal-Jiribam NH-37 near Kaimai on April 16.
Search operations were conducted by security forces (SFs) in Aimol village and Irengbam Maning in Bishnupur District of Manipur, Manipur Police reports on X on May 6. As many as 35 Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, including three cadres with bounties on their heads, surrendered under the "Lon Varratu" (Return Home) campaign in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh on May 5, reports The Times of India. Dantewada Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Rai confirmed that the surrendered Maoists have renounced violence and expressed their belief in democracy and the Constitution. The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) has issued calls to boycott the Lok Sabha (Lower House of the Indian Parliament) elections by putting up posters across different sites near the Kurkanalo Government High School and the foothills near Jhumra Mountain in the Gomia block in Bokaro District of Jharkhand on May 4, reports The Times of India. Two terrorists were killed in 'friendly fire' when a group of terrorists attacked the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Rawalpindi city (Rawalpindi District) of Punjab on May 5, reports The News. The slain terrorists, who were identified as Naseebullah and Ehsanullah, belonged to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), according to the CTD spokesperson.
