On April 26, Maoists killed a Congress leader and former Janpad Panchayat member identified as Joga Podiyam (44) at Potali village in Dantewada District, in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, reports The Times of India. Dantewada District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Rai stated that seven-eight Maoists entered the house of Joga Podiyam at around 11 pm, disconnected the electricity supply, dragged him out, and slit his throat, killing him on the spot.
On April 26, a gunfight broke out between two groups in Sinam Kom in Kangpkopi District of Manipur, reports India TodayNE and Northeast Now. A 22-year-old village volunteer identified as Laishram Boycha alias Prem was hit by a bullet during the gunfight and he fell into a deep gorge from the hill slope. His body was later recovered on the deep ravine on April 27.
