Eight Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres and one Special Task Force (STF) jawan (trooper) were killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) and two other troopers sustained injuries in the Kuthul area of Abujhmarh Forest in Narayanpur District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on June 14, reports Hindustan Times and The Statesman. Acting on intelligence inputs about a significant Maoist presence in the Kuthul, Farsebeda, and Kodtameta areas, around 1,400 personnel from the DRG (District Reserve Guard) and STF were deployed from Jagdalpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Kanker in the southern Chhattisgarh. The forces have been conducting an intensive anti-Maoist operation for three days. The SFs had surrounded the Maoist hideouts, and in the intermittent gunfire the eight Maoists and the STF trooper were killed.
A Security Force (SF) personnel was killed by unidentified persons in Yarik in Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province of Pakistan on June 16, reports Khorasan Diary. Investigation into the incident is currently underway.
At least three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were injured in an attack on Roghani Road in Chaman District of Balochistan Province on June 15, reports Khorasan Dairy. Incident occurred when unidentified individuals opened fire on a civilian vehicle carrying six soldiers returning from a shopping trip in Chaman Bazar.
An unknown armed motorcyclists opened fire on Station House Officer (SHO)'s vehicle in which a Police Constable and a passerby were injured in Qazi Talab area of Hangu District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KP) of Pakistan on June 16, reports Khorasan Diary. The SHO was on a routine patrol when the attack occurred. No killing reported at the time of reporting.
