14 civil society leaders issuing an appeal on February 8 urged major political parties to take appropriate decisions to oust Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Sapkota from the post as he failed to discharge responsibility in an impartial manner, reports Republica. They urged the political parties to take appropriate decisions on Speaker Sapkota alleging that he had failed to impartially discharge the role of Speaker. They have also argued that Sapkota had sought to evade the Constitution and the relevant laws in order to exercise executive powers, such as holding up for two full years the discussion of a bill placed for consideration by the Government. Those issuing statement include Purnimaya Lama, Badri Prasad Bhusal, Bhagiram Chowdhary, Indra Prasad Aryal, Kanak Mani Dixit, Kedar Narshing KC, Maina Karki, Manamunishwar Acharya, Rajan Kuikel. Sabitri Shrestha, Suman Adhikari, Surya Bahadur Adhikari, Sushil Pyakurel and Yagya Raj Thapa.
