The bodies of four Maoists were also recovered from the site. The Minister of Defence said that Maoist casualties may be more as several bodies were taken away by the attackers. Security forces used night vision helicopters for the first time to repulse the attack.

Chief District Officer of Jumla Damodar Pant and two civilians died in the assault reports said. Several hundred insurgents are feared dead in security forces counter offensives in Jumla.
