Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Khandaker Golam on July 2 said that although militancy has not been completely eradicated from the country, it is under control, reports The Daily Star. "We must remain vigilant as the latent seeds of militancy may still exist," he stated. Recalling the tragic events of July 1, 2016 (Holey Artisan café attack), Faruq highlighted that in 2015-16, various militant attacks were carried out as part of domestic and international conspiracies to impede the development and progress of Bangladesh. “Following the Holey Artisan attack, our development partners halted their projects and left the country out of fear,” he said. Khandaker said the resolute stance of the Police and the people, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was against the militants. "This demonstrated to our development partners that we are determined to uproot militancy in Bangladesh. As a result, they returned, and our journey of development continued," Faruq explained.

According to Cox's Bazar District Police, at least 150 killings have taken place in the Rohingya camp from August 25, 2017, to June 2023, Bangladesh Daily reports on July 12. In 2022, 380 firearms have been recovered and 168 people have been arrested by raiding various camps in Ukhia-Teknaf. At the same time, 779 Rohingyas were caught with more than 2.6 million yaba and 29 kg of methamphetamine. In addition, 29 people have been sent to prison through the court in 18 cases related to the abduction of 136 Rohingya. Sheikh Mohammad Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Ukhia Police Station, said that day by day, some terrorist forces are being formed among the Rohingya community and they are becoming unstoppable, barbaric and uncontrolled to achieve their interests. By capitalizing on the common Rohingya population, they are engaged in a strategy to make their pockets heavier. This situation cannot be allowed to continue for long. Rohingya must return to their country. Peace and order in the region lies in the speedy repatriation of the Rohingyas. Several sources in the camp say that some of Myanmar's armed terrorist forces are directly involved in these crimes. They include the Arakan Salvation Army (ARSA), the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) and the terrorist Nabi Hussain Bahini.

During a press conference on July 24, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) legal and media wing director commander Khandaker AL Moin said Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya (JAFHS) signed a formal agreement with the banned militant outfit Ansar al-Islam in order to cooperate, reports Dhaka Tribune. He further said, "Amir (Chief) Anisur Rahman alias Mahmud signed an agreement with the leaders of Ansar al-Islam at a meeting held in Kishoregonj District in 2022. Later, Ansar al-Islam provided BDT 1.5 million to JAFHS." "Anisur Rahman met and sought consultation from Nathan Bom, the head of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KCNF), and Bangchung, second in command, before coordinating with Ansar al-Islam," he added. Meanwhile, Anisur Rahman met Ansar al-Islam's Roxy and Felani at a restaurant in Comilla District, and they held another meeting at Jatrabari in the capital (Dhaka) and planned to create and expand a new organization. According to that plan, they started the activities of JAFHS. During his stay in the mountain areas of Bandarban District, he met KCNF members and had good relations with KCNF chief Nathan Baum and second-in-command Bangchung. In 2021, they signed an agreement to provide armed training to JAFHS cadres in the deep hills of Bandarban District under the umbrella of the KCNF.
