The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) fighter jets carried out strikes targeting the gathering point of LTTE intelligence wing leaders North of Puthukkudiyiruppu in the Mullaitivu district on October 29-morning, said the SLAF Group Captain Ajantha Silva. "Aerial strike was carried out by the Air Force fighter jets at the time LTTE intelligence leaders meeting North of Puthukkudiyiruppu yesterday at around 10.15 a.m. We have obtained precise and reliable information that a group of Tiger intelligence leaders were meeting and the Air Force jets carried out an air raid targeting the location", Group Captain Silva said, adding, the LTTE suffered severe damage and no immediate reports are available as to who was meeting at the time of the air strike. According to defence sources, the target was a regular visiting place of the LTTE intelligence chief Pottu Amman and its key agents. "The Air Force fighter jets engaged in the aerial attack took off from the Katunayake air base", sources added.
