According to The Post, at least eleven more persons, including seven non local Taliban, have died and 13 persons injured during the on-going sectarian clashes in the Kurram Agency of FATA while clashes continue for the 12th conservative day. The curfew imposed on November 16, 2007 has reportedly not been relaxed so far, owing to which routine life has been paralysed in the entire Agency. The main Tull and Parachinar highway has been closed for the last 48 days due to which edible items and medicines are not available in Kurram Agency and road links to the various tribal areas are also disconnected. Local people said that militants from adjoining areas of North Waziristan and Hangu district in NWFP attacked the Manguk and Tangai villages on January 1-night, Dawn reported. Meanwhile, army and paramilitary troops have taken positions on hilltops to enforce a cease-fire in the area while a peace jirga continued its efforts for a truce. Sources said that deployment of troops had begun in the Balishkhel and Sadda areas while more contingents of the army had moved into Alizai town.

At least 27 militants were killed in two days of clashes in South Waziristan, a military official told AFP on January 2, The Post reported. The clashes broke out after pro-Taliban militants abducted four Pakistan soldiers in South Waziristan on January 1, the official said. "Five militants were killed yesterday and 22 overnight," he stated. The official disclosed that the abducted soldiers were delivering food rations from one post to another when militants seized them. Their fate was not immediately known. Both sides used heavy weaponry in the clashes that went on through the night, resulting in the death of 22 militants with no loss of life on the army side, he claimed.

President Pervez Musharraf said on January 2 that investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto would be carried out with the help of the Scotland Yard, according to Dawn. In his address to the nation, he said British Prime Minister Gordon Brown had accepted Pakistan’s request to send Scotland Yard investigators. The president claimed that confusion relating to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, whom he repeatedly called Shaheed (martyr) in his 30-minute speech, would have to be removed and that all kinds of photo-clips and witnesses would be examined with the help of British police to arrive at a conclusion. He said Pakistan’s law-enforcement agencies would now have all possible forensic and technical support of Scotland Yard. "I am sure now all doubts will disappear about the killing of late PPP [Pakistan People’s Party] leader who was a great supporter of democracy and an ardent critic of terrorism and extremism," Musharraf said. President Musharraf directly accused Baitullah Mehsud and Maulana Fazlullah of killing Benazir Bhutto. "I have no doubt that Baitullah Mehsud of South Waziristan and Fazlullah of Swat, who were previously involved in the killing of many innocent people including those in Sargodha, Kohat and Rawalpindi, have got Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto killed," he claimed. The president also announced that he had directed the caretaker prime minister to prepare a "compensation package" for the poor people who had suffered financial losses during three days of violence.

The Election Commission of Pakistan on January 2 delayed the general elections slated for January 8 until February 18, according to The News. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Justice (retd) Qazi Muhammad Farooq, made the announcement at a press conference in Islamabad and appealed to all political parties to accept this decision in the national interest and actively participate in the electoral process. The CEC claimed that keeping in view the ground realities and the task of making preparations again following large-scale rioting, it was impossible for the commission to hold the polls on January 8. He said the elections had been postponed due to the violence and rioting, and also because the month of Muharram was commencing.

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has given another two days to the government to end the military operation in the Swat district of NWFP and pull out all security force personnel from the area, and warned that it will expand its actions from Waziristan to Kohistan and settled districts if their demand is not met. Maulana Omar, a spokesman for the TTP, told Dawn by telephone on January 2 that an earlier deadline for withdrawal of troops had lapsed on December 15, but they did not resume their activities because the entire nation was in mourning following the tragic death of Benazir Bhutto. "Now we extend the deadline for two days and ask the government to withdraw troops and halt the operation in Swat. Otherwise, we will attack the government everywhere and it will be an all-out war," he warned.

According to The Post, hundreds of Pakistani families have poured across the border into Afghanistan in recent days as clashes between different clans continued on the 13th day in the Kurram Agency of the FATA. Six people are reported to have died and 11 inured in the fresh clashes. Afghan officials said about 900 families (most of them Sunnis) have fled across the border in the past two weeks to the Khost and Paktia provinces. While the Khost Governor Arsallah Jamal stated that about 400 to 500 Pakistani families had fled to the province, Abdul Rahman Mangal, the deputy governor in neighbouring Paktia province, said about 480 families had come to the border districts there, including about 20 to 30 Afghan families who were living in Pakistan.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, son of the slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and recently appointed chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, is on the hit-list of radicals, according to the Website of the British newspaper The Sun. The Website quoted Taliban cleric Maulana Mohavya Irshad as saying, "Bilawal is a target now." Speaking at the Lal Masjid (Red Mosque) in Islamabad, the 24-year-old cleric said: "I don’t know much about Bilawal. I only know he is a liberal person which is a deviation from Islam. True Muslims will not allow him to go against Islam… These true Muslims will be horrified to see an image of Bilawal dressed as the devil while standing besides a pretty girl at a decadent party at Oxford University."

President Pervez Musharraf on January 3 denied accusations that the military or intelligence services were involved in the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, The Post reported. Speaking at a news conference in Islamabad, Musharraf said he had invited British investigators to assist in the probe into her death to dispel any suspicions about official involvement in her assassination. "We don't mind going to any extent, as nobody is involved from the government or agency side," he said. He also denied there had been a security lapse and implied that Benazir, who was greeting supporters through the sunroof of her armoured vehicle at the time of the attack, was partly responsible. "Who is to be blamed for her coming out her vehicle?" he asked. Acknowledging the reports that the crime scene had been quickly hosed down, possibly destroying evidence, he said: "I am sure that they did not do it with an intention of hiding some secrets or that the intelligence agencies instructed them to hide secrets," Musharraf told reporters. He insisted there had been no security lapse when she was killed at the campaign rally in Rawalpindi. The president said Benazir had gone ahead with the rally while ignoring the threats. He said she was provided with adequate security, including a bulletproof rostrum and a police chief of her choice for the area. Two aides next to her in the car survived, he said, adding that she died only when she decided to ride above the sunroof of

Security forces (SFs) launched a search operation against militants in the Swat district of the NWFP on January 3 and arrested more than 70 suspected militants, including local Taliban Commander Ikramuddin. Sources told The News that SFs in an operation at Shakardara in the Matta sub-division arrested 63 persons and confiscated heavy weapons from them. The troops also blew up two houses of suspected militants in the area. The military, however, confirmed the arrests of 44 suspected militants only. Ikramuddin, a close aide of the TNSM leader Maulana Fazlullah, was allegedly involved in the beheading of police officials in the Swat valley.

Rival militants attacked offices of a pro-government militant, killing nine and wounding eight of his men on January 6- night, according to Dawn. The attackers first stormed the office of Maulana Nazir in Wana, headquarters of South Waziristan, and killed three of his supporters and injured four others, sources said. The militants, reportedly equipped with rockets and heavy weapons, launched another attack on the office of Nazir’s close associate, Maulana Khanan, in Shakai town, killing six people and injuring five others. A spokesman for Maulana Nazir blamed Baitullah Mehsud’s supporters for the attack and asked all Mehsud tribesmen to leave the Wazir tribe-dominated areas to avoid bloodshed. "We suspect Baitullah and his Uzbek supporters for this gruesome attack which left nine Mujahideen dead," Lala Wazir said. A large number of attackers, he said, came from the Mehsud area at night and attacked the local peace committee offices in Wana and Shakai. Local people said that Nazir’s supporters later shot dead an associate of Baitullah Mehsud and captured four others in Wana. Maulana Nazir belongs to the Ahmadzai Wazir tribe and has great influence in the region and virtually controls Wana. His supporters, backed by security forces, had launched a drive against Uzbek militants in the area in April 2007. The week-long armed clashes between Nazir’s supporters and Uzbeks had left over 160 people dead. Sources said that the latest incident could trigger a tribal feud after Nazir asked tribesmen hailing from the Mehsud tribe to leave the Ahmadzai Wazir dominated areas by 8am on January 8.

The TNSM leader Maulana Fazlullah, who was accused by President Pervez Musharraf of masterminding the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, said on January 10 that he was not involved in her murder. “Benazir Bhutto’s killing was a part of power politics. We have nothing to do with her and her family members know the killers well,” said Sirajuddin, a spokesman for Fazlullah, who called The News from an undisclosed location. Musharraf had blamed Baitullah Mehsud and Maulana Fazlullah for assassinating Benazir in Rawalpindi on December 27. Baitullah had already denied the charge against him but Fazlullah, who was declared dead by some media organisations on January 9 in a military action in the Manja area of Kabal sub-division, appeared to clarify his position. Fazlullah also claimed that many suicide bombers were ready to launch attacks on targeted locations in the country.

According to The News, the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) personnel claimed on January 15 that two alleged teenage suicide bombers were killed while a third committed suicide by swallowing poisonous capsules in the Mohmand Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). An unnamed official stated that the three alleged young suicide bombers were on their way to Ghalanai, Mohmand Agency’s regional headquarters, in a Land Cruiser from the Pakistan-Afghanistan border areas. He said the FC soldiers deployed at the Khapakh Post on the Pakistan-Afghanistan highway - about six kilometers west of Ghalanai - stopped the vehicle and asked the three boys to disembark for a body search. According to him, one of the boys alighted and another remained inside while the third attempted to escape. The official said the soldiers immediately opened fire and shot him dead. He was identified as Nadir Khan, a resident of Swabi district in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP). However, the alleged suicide bomber before his death exploded the vehicle through a remote control device, killing another 13-year old boy, who was inside the vehicle. The soldiers reportedly took the third suicide bomber into custody and brought him to Ghalanai. However, the boy, suspected to be from Waziristan, swallowed poisonous capsules and subsequently died.

The chief, vice chief and finance secretary of the banned Harkat-ul-Mujahideen Al-alami (HuMA) were on January 15 sentenced to life imprisonment – based on their alleged confessions – for conspiring to kill President Pervez Musharraf in 2002, according to Daily Times. Justice Ghulam Ali Samtio of a Karachi anti-terrorism court gave the verdict against Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Haneef and Ashraf Khan. In a judgment announced inside Central Prison, Karachi, co-accused Sharib alias Arsalan Farooqui, Jameel and Inspector Waseem Ahmed of the Rangers, were exonerated of the charges for lack of evidence. According to the prosecution, the accused had parked a vehicle laden with explosives on Shahrah-e-Faisal on April 24, 2002. President Musharraf was scheduled to travel from the Karachi airport to the State Guest House along this route. The plan to kill him, however, failed as the remote-controlled device attached to the explosives apparently failed to detonate. The conspiracy came to light when the men were arrested in a bomb blast case at the US Consulate in Karachi. They confessed to this incident and were charged with attempted murder under Section 324 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

He said the National Command Authority was looking after the country's nuclear assets with a Strategic Planning Division fully capable of ensuring the safety of installations. Musharraf also said the country currently faced three major challenges; terrorism and extremism, transition to democracy and need to sustain socio-economic growth. He said a few "misguided and lunatics" were attempting to force their way of life on the majority, but vowed that such elements will not succeed. "There is no place for al Qaeda in Pakistan... we cannot allow al Qaeda to operate and commit acts of terrorism here or elsewhere… neither can we allow Taliban's here or any support to them. Security forces claimed to have killed about 90 militants in two different encounters in the Ladha area of South Waziristan on January 18, according to The Post. According to Dawn, in the first incident, militants attacked a convoy on the Jandola-Wana road in Chagmalai at 12.30pm. Troops returned fire and between 20 and 30 assailants were killed. Four security force personnel were injured and two vehicles were damaged. Further, security forces attacked a large number of militants who had gathered to attack the Laddah fort and killed up to 60 of them, the military said. Military spokesman Major General Athar Abbass said "Our soldiers have bravely guarded the Ladha Fort. They were attacked from mountain tops but they retaliated with heavy weaponry including artillery, killing about 90 insurgents," he stated. He added that the SFs suffered no casualties. However, Taliban sources have dismissed the government claim and described the reports about the casualties on the part of Taliban as part of the propaganda to boost-up what they called as the shattered morale of the security forces.

Security officials have indicated that the LeJ orchestrated the January 17 suicide attack on an imambargah in Peshawar, capital of the NWFP, The Post reported. "Use of a gun and then a suicide blast is signature method of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi," they said on January 18. "The bomber first fired some shots and then blew himself up. The modus operandi is the hallmark of Lashkar militants and it shows they have plans to stoke up sectarian hatred," a senior security official said. The unnamed officials said the LeJ had forged close ties with tribal warlord Baitullah Mehsud. As reported earlier, 12 persons were killed and 25 others wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the crowded Mirza Qasim Baig Imambargah in the Mohalla Janghi area.

Hayden said in an interview published on January 18 that former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed by al Qaeda and allies of Baitullah Mehsud, according to Daily Times. He told Washington Post that this combination was also behind a new wave of violence threatening Pakistan’s stability. Hayden said Benazir Bhutto was assassinated by fighters allied with Baitullah Mehsud, with support from al Qaeda’s terrorist network. Hayden said, "This was done by that network around Baitullah Mehsud. We have no reason to question that." He described the assassination as "part of an organised campaign" that has included suicide bombings and other attacks on Pakistani leaders. He added, "What you see is, I think, a change in the character of what’s going on there. You’ve got this nexus now that probably was always there in latency but is now active: a nexus between al Qaeda and various extremist and separatist groups..."

The 12 Pakistanis arrested had made recent trips to Pakistan, according to the report. The group received an order to carry out an attack in Barcelona from figures high up within al Qaeda hierarchy during a meeting at a training camp in Waziristan. Announcing the arrests on January 19, Spain’s Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba declared that an imminent attack by "highly organised radical Islamists" had been foiled. "Here we are looking at a well-organised group who were going beyond ideological radicalism to acquiring materials to make explosives and therefore eventually to carry out violent attacks," he said. "During our searches, we found various materials which could be explosives or be used to make explosives," he told a press conference in Madrid. Four timing devices as well as computer equipment were recovered.

In the adjacent North Waziristan, two SF personnel were killed and 10 others injured when militants fired rockets at a military fort in Razmak. Sources said the militants attacked the Razmak army camp, 75 kilometers south of agency headquarters Miranshah, around 1pm. After the attack on the fort, two fighter jets bombed mountainside villages nearby, killing one civilian. The military spokesman, however, said jets had flown reconnaissance missions, and no bombs were dropped. Further, a spokesman for Taliban commander Baitullah Mehsud, Maulana Muhammad Umar, said the militants captured 13 soldiers in the action, a claim denied by the military. “We will target sensitive installations in Islamabad, including the headquarters of intelligence agencies, if the military does not stop its operation,” Umar told Dawn from an undisclosed location. He claimed that the militants were still holding the Sipla Toi and Sararogha forts they had captured last week. He warned that militants would intensify their attacks and would capture all pickets and forts in the Mehsud area of South Waziristan. He also claimed responsibility for the murder of a senior official of the Intelligence Bureau in the Charsadda district of NWFP on January 20.

President Pervez Musharraf on January 22 ruled out the possibility of Pakistan’s break-up and its nuclear arsenal falling into the hands of al Qaeda or Taliban, according to Daily Times. Speaking at the French Institute of International Relations in Paris, he said extremists were only three percent of Pakistan’s population and the 500,000-strong army protected Pakistan and its nuclear arsenal. He said Pakistan Army was one of the most disciplined armies in the world and there was no question of any junior officer taking over or attempting a coup. “I can assure you that nothing will happen in Pakistan… Pakistan is not a banana republic,” he stated. A Shia-Sunni conflict existed but it could not harm Pakistan’s integrity, he opined. An Associated Press report quoted President Musharraf as saying that Pakistani troops were operating against terrorists and “not going around trying to locate Osama Bin Laden and Zawahri”. “It’s more important to battle the remnants of Afghanistan’s former Taliban militia,” he said. Also on January 22, President Musharraf met his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy who pledged support to Pakistan in the fight against terrorism, AFP reported.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Shujaat Hussain’s brother Wajahat Hussain and son Shafay Hussain landed at the Islamabad Airport on PIA flight PK-786 on January 24, after British officials allegedly detained and deported them after they had landed at a London Airport from Spain, according to Daily Times. According to sources, the pair was given deported passenger status. The immigration officers offloaded them from the plane and detained them for questioning. Geo News television channel quoted sources as saying that the airport officials had doubts that the two detainees might have links with the 11 Pakistanis who were arrested in Barcelona a few days ago for their alleged links with terrorists. Wajahat and Shujaat’s son came to London to mobilise the Pakistani community ahead of President Pervez Musharraf’s address, according to sources. The British Foreign Office spokeswoman Natasha Khan confirmed the arrests, saying, "Six men were detained at the airport on 22 January and were released on 23 January. We sincerely regret any inconvenience, any distress caused. They are free to return to the UK and their visas have not been affected."

The tribesmen also said that there was a curfew-like situation in Darra Adam Khel as 80 percent of the population of the semi-tribal valley has fled homes for safer places in Kohat and the provincial capital Peshawar. Taliban had taken control of the guns-manufacturing Darra town, some 40-km south of the provincial metropolis, several months ago. On January 24, they snatched four arms-laden trucks that were en route to South Waziristan to supply arms to the Pakistan Army troops. The incident forced the security forces to launch a massive operation to retrieve the trucks on January 25, which continued till January 28. On January 27, the security forces had recaptured the key road tunnel. Up to 24 militants and eight soldiers were reportedly killed in the clashes on January 27.

12 people, including five militants, five civilians and two Pakistan Army soldiers, were killed while eight militants and four soldiers were injured in clashes between the security forces (SFs) and militants on January 28, according to The News. There were reports of heavy clashes between the two sides in various parts of the Mehsud-inhabited areas of South Waziristan such as Makin, Ladha, Torwam and Tiarza in which military authorities said militants suffered significant losses. Besides gunship choppers and artillery shelling on militants’ positions, the Army called two fighters which targeted the strongholds of Baitullah Mehsud’s militants in the Makin and Ladha towns. Military authorities said a number of militants were killed while their hideouts destroyed in the bombardment. The Army also reportedly fired mortar and artillery shells from military camps in Razmak and Jandola on the militants’ hide-outs in Kaza Panga, Dher Narai, Shaga, Treekh Narai, Wrasta Bazeena and Shaktoi areas in which officials said five militants were killed. They said intercepts from militants suggested that eight of their colleagues were wounded. In the Mohammad Nawaz Kot area near Makin, militants attacked a security post manned by the Pakistan Army soldiers. In the ensuing encounter, two soldiers died and four others were injured.

A missile apparently fired by a pilot-less plane hit a house in a village near Mir Ali in North Waziristan late on January 28-night, killing 15 people - 10 suspected militants, two women and three minors, according to The News. Intelligence sources said those killed also included Arab nationals but their identity was not known. A militant source told Daily Times by phone that five men "speaking the language of the holy Quran" were among the dead, suggesting that Arab militants were among the victims. The targeted house was in Khushali Torikhel, 12 kilometers south of Mir Ali town. The owner of the house, Madad Khan, believed to be a Taliban militant, survived the attack while his guests sleeping in the Hujra (male guesthouse) died in the missile strike at 1:15 am, and so did two women and three minors of his family. It was not clear where the missiles were fired from, Daily Times reported. Residents, however, claimed that an unmanned spy plane, of a type often used by US forces in Afghanistan, was involved in the attack. The plane is capable of firing missiles and taking photographs from a considerable altitude. "We recognise the sound and shape of the American drone and two such planes have been hovering in the sky since Monday afternoon, and people have seen them over Mir Ali and Miranshah," said local residents.

According to The News, kidnappers freed more than 250 students and teachers unharmed after being given safe passage by the authorities on January 28 from a school in the Bannu district of NWFP where they were holding the hostages. Though the government insisted that the kidnappers were a gang of criminals, reports indicated that some of them were suspected militants. One of the kidnappers, Gul Jamil, who was killed in the shoot-out with police, was stated to be a militant belonging to the Karak district. Groups of militants have reportedly been active in recent months in both the Karak and Bannu districts. They have been blamed for some of the kidnappings in the two districts. About eight militants, who had abducted a senior health official, Dr Hussain Jan, and his driver in Karak, took the children and teachers hostage in the high school of Walizar Kallay in the Domel area of Bannu, Dawn reported. One of the kidnappers was killed during an exchange of fire with police. The militants released the kidnapped men and entered the school. They held the students and teachers at gunpoint to avert a police action. Sources said that local elders, including former legislators Qari Gul Azeem and Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz, held negotiations with the militants for the release of the students and teachers. The six-hour standoff ended when the elders persuaded police officers to avoid an armed action and provide safe passage to the gunmen. "They (hostage-takers) were armed with dynamite, hand-grenades, Kalashnikov rifles and other explosive material," Aziz told AFP. He added that "During negotiations they repeatedly warned they would kill the children and blow up themselves if they were not allowed safe passage."

The Taliban in Afghanistan have distanced themselves from Pakistani militants led by Baitullah Mehsud, saying they don’t support any militant activity in Pakistan, Dawn reported. "We do not support any militant activity and operation in Pakistan," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told Dawn on telephone from an undisclosed location on January 28. The spokesman denied media reports that the Taliban had expelled Baitullah Mehsud, chief of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan. "Baitullah is a Pakistani and we as the Afghan Taliban have nothing to do with his appointment or his expulsion. We did not appoint him and we have not expelled him," he said. "We have no concern with anybody joining or leaving the Taliban movement in Pakistan. Ours is an Afghan movement and we as a matter of policy do not support militant activity in Pakistan," the Taliban spokesman said. "Had he been an Afghan we would have expelled him the same way we expelled Mansoor Dadullah for disobeying the orders of Mullah Omar. But Baitullah is a Pakistani Talib and whatever he does is his decision. We have nothing to do with it," Mujahid claimed.

The blast occurred at about 5am on January 30 in the guestroom of a house located in the Badshah Dak area of Tauheed Colony in Phandu police precincts. "Initial evidence suggests that they were suicide attackers," police officer Farid Shah told AP. Gulbahar Deputy Superintendent of Police Ijaz Khan said the men were likely involved in an earlier attack on music shops in the Afridiabad area. He said police had detained one Ismail, originally from Lakary of Mohmand Agency, who had rented the house. The dead men included Ismail’s brother-in-law Saadullah and a cousin identified as Ali Rehman. The third body could not be identified. An AFP report said the men were 20 to 30 years old. Heavy fighting continued between the security forces (SFs) and the Baitullah Mehsud-led militants in South Waziristan where troops targeted three vehicles carrying militants, killing an unspecified number of them. Clashes were reported from Kaniguram, Nawaz Kot, Kotkai, Ladha and Torwam near Tiarza. In Kaniguram town, tribal sources said three residents were injured when some houses were damaged in the artillery shelling. Most of the residents of the town had already left their homes and shifted to Tank and Dera Ismail Khan due to the fighting. The troops, after capturing Kotkai, the hometown of militants' commander Qari Hussain, known for beheading his opponents, on January 30 moved towards the Inzar area. The soldiers, during their movement, reportedly did not face any major resistance from the militants and set up checkpoints in Inzar village.

Senior al Qaeda commander Abu Laith Al-Libi has been killed in Pakistan, CNN quoted "a knowledgeable Western official and an unnamed military official" as saying, according to Daily Times. The 41-year-old Libyan was active in operational planning and training, and according to the US official, "not far below the importance of the top two al Qaeda leaders" – Osama bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri. He was placed on the US military’s most wanted list in 2006, behind Laden, Zawahiri and Taliban leader Mullah Omar. AP news agency said a Website used by militant groups carried a statement in the name of Al-Fajr, al Qaeda’s media wing, saying "he was martyred with a group of his brothers in the land of Muslim Pakistan." The statement was referring to a missile strike at Khushali Torikhel in North Waziristan on January 28. 10 militants, two women and three minors had died in the missile strike. However, a US military official with the Combined Joint Task Force-82, the anti-terror unit responsible for searching Libi in Afghanistan, told CNN he had no information on Al-Libi’s death, but added that CJTF-82 did not collect information from outside of Afghanistan and would be informed of targeted operations only "if the Pakistani military share that with us". AP said Pakistan’s Interior Ministry officials did not confirm Al-Libi’s death and were "still trying to gather details on the missile strike." Pakistani Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier Javed Cheema told AFP that "We have no information of his killing."
