He was reportedly a very close aide of international gangster Dawood Ibrahim and Counterfeit Indian Currency (CFIC) of over INR 2.5 million face values was recovered from his possession. Son of former Nepalese minister Saleem Mian Ansari, Yunus was based in Kathmandu. Nepalese Inspector General of Police Ramesh Thakuri has confirmed the arrest of Yunus. United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) had disqualified 587 Maoist fighters cantoned in the third division camp. Among them, 367 were under 18 years of age and 220 others were recruited after the cut-off date. However, only 258 disqualified fighters were present in farewell function. According to assistant commander of the camp Dipak Chilaune, 329 disqualified combatants were absent as some of them had already left the camp voluntarily and others were on home leave. Read less...

The CPN-UML activists were detained for about three hours before being handed them over to the Police in the presence of media persons. YCL cadres also submitted an M-9 pistol, two swords and six iron rods seized from the CPN-UML activists.
