On October 1, a gangster from Punjab identified as Deepak Mann alias Mann Jaito, was shot dead in Harsana Village of Sonipat District in Haryana reports The Tribune on October 2. The Bambiha gang member's murder was claimed by Gangster Goldy Brar on social media. His body was discovered by a farmer in the fields, prompting police involvement. The Punjab Police confirmed his identity through social media and found bullet wounds and empty cartridges at the scene. Deepak was wanted by Punjab Police for various criminal cases and was being investigated by local authorities in connection with his murder.

The IS terrorist, Mohammad Shahnawaz alias Shafi Ujjama, was on the most wanted list of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and had a bounty of INR 300,000 on his head. The module was planning to carry out terror attacks in north India, including Delhi, based on instructions from foreign-based handlers. Authorities recovered several incriminating materials, including a liquid chemical, which is used for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), on October 2, (today) carried out searches at over 60 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, suspecting that some people had links with the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) and were supporting them financially, reports The Times of India. The sleuths of NIA raided the residences of Maoist sympathisers, civil rights activists and advocates at Hyderabad, Guntur, Nellore, Tirupati and Srikakulam. As per the reports, the NIA team raided the residence of Gurrapusala Ramakrishna at Narasaraopet in Palnadu District of Andhra Pradesh and the house of Nallapati Rama Rao at Jonnalagadda and similarly the houses of Pachalla Sipsora, S Kranti Kumar and few others. The premises including, houses and offices, of the leaders of civil rights sympathizers who are suspected of having links with Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] sympathizers in both the Telugu speaking states, were being searched.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), on October 2, arrested Chandra Narasimhulu, a ‘state executive committee’ member of a frontal organisation, the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), from Sri Sathya Sai District of Andhra Pradesh, in the Munchingputu Maoist conspiracy case, reports The Times of India. Reportedly, the NIA teams conducted raids across a total of 62 locations, including 53 in Andhra Pradesh and nine in Telangana, and seized a pistol, 14 rounds of ammunition, and INR 1.3 million in cash from one of the premises in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh. Maoist literature and documents were seized from the other raided locations. The locations in Andhra Pradesh subjected to raids are in Guntur, Palanadu, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Prakasam, Bapatla, Eluru, East Godavari, D. R Ambedkar Konasema, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Nellore, Tirupati, Kadapa Satya Sai, Anantapur, and Kurnool districts. Nine locations raided in Telangana fall in the districts of Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar, Hanamkonda, Ranga Reddy, and Adilabad. A woman Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) leader, identified as Rajani alias Kalawati Samayya Veladi, who was carrying a bounty of INR 1.1 million, surrendered before the Police in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on October 7, reports The Indian Express. Veladi was involved in several attacks on government employees, including an ambush-cum-encounter that left 12 security personnel martyred in 2017. According to Police officials, Veladi was recruited as a member in August 2009 and was posted to Farsegarh LOS (Local Organisation Squad), where she worked till 2010. She was subsequently transferred to the Orchha LOS in 2010, where she worked until 2013. “In 2013, she was promoted to Area Committee Member (ACM) rank and posted with the National Park Area doctor team, and she worked there until 2015. She was sent to Sandra LOS in 2015 and has worked there till date,” said a senior Police official, adding that Veladi chose to surrender as she felt that women were often discriminated against by senior Maoist leaders.

In a handwritten letter released to the media on October 15, the 'secretary' of Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagabali division of the Maoists, Rita, said the proposed mining of bauxite at Sijimali under Kasipur block of the district was against the interests of the people. “The police have arrested 27 activists for raising their voice against the proposed mine in the last three months. It shows that the police, local administration, and companies were hands-in-glove for suppressing public opinion against the mine,” said Rita. Alleging that the administration was supporting the mining companies for vested interests, the Maoist leader said their activities were not only anti-people but also anti-national. She appealed to the people of Sijimali and neighbouring villages to strongly oppose the proposed mine at the public hearing to be held on Monday (October 16). This individual is accused of transmitting sensitive information to Pakistan. The ATS initiated its operation following military intelligence reports, which revealed the Labhshankar’s activities. The accused utilized a WhatsApp number to contact Army personnel and disseminate Remote Access Trojan (RAT) malware with the intent of extracting classified information. He used an Indian SIM card registered under the name Muhammad Saklain Thaim. This SIM card was activated on a mobile phone owned by Azgar Hajibai and subsequently transported to Maheshwari in Anand, as per the instructions of an individual associated with the Pakistan Embassy. Labhshankar was a Pakistani citizen who came to India in 1999, later acquiring Indian citizenship. His extended family remains in Pakistan.
