The military sources said that all intelligence units of the army, navy and air force, including the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), have started the inquiry while the DGFI is acting as coordinator. Daily Star has reported that an inquiry by the military intelligence into the alleged links of retired and serving army personnel with the outlawed Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) has found no such nexus. The investigation was launched following a statement by a JMB cadre, Obaidullah Suman, that retired Lance Corporal Harun-ur-Rashid had trained the outfit’s cadres in bomb-making. He had further said that eight serving army personnel have also trained the JMB cadres. The investigation concluded that Harun, who has been arrested following the disclosure and had reportedly confessed to his crime, was not involved with the JMB.
