Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 12 militants of al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) from different areas of Dhaka city on July 1, reports Dhaka Tribune. Of the arrestees, two are AQIS Bangladesh Chief Coordinator Mufti Mainul Islam and Advisor Maolana Zafar Amin. Mainul is a former leader of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al Islami Bangladesh (HuJI-B). The tribunal took the decision as the alleged Razakars did not appear before the court after publication of newspaper advertisements to that end. The fugitives are Gazi Abdul Mannan, alleged commander of Karimganj Razakar camp, and alleged Razakar members Nasiruddin Ahmed, Hafiz Uddin and Azharul Islam.

Since all the outlawed and other radical Islamist groups had different ideologies, now their aim is the same – uprooting the Government and take over power to establish Shariah law. Students caught Abdul Matin, master's student of the Institute of Education and Research, while he was trying to indoctrinate a psychology teacher in his room. Police said that although the seized materials sulphur, hexachloride and lithium are used in different industrial works, those cannot be bought or sold without government permission. The materials are also used for making firecrackers and crude bombs.

A war crimes suspect, identified as Moslem Prodhan was arrested on July 7 from his house at Kamarhati village in Nikli sub-District of Kishoreganj District, reports Daily Star. Earlier in the day, the International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) led by Justice Obaidul Hassan issued arrest warrant against Syed Mohammad Hossain, and Moslem following a petition of the prosecution. Hossain is the younger brother of convicted war criminal Syed Hasan Ali, who was also tried in absentia.

He said “The two International Crimes Tribunals (ICTs) will be merged into one after their judges return to the country from a conference in Argentina.”The Awami League (AL)-led Government formed the first tribunal on March 25, 2010 in line with the party's electoral pledge to try people who committed crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971. The Government formed a second tribunal on March 22, 2012 to expedite the trial.

The tribunal found Forkan guilty in three out of five charges framed against him. Of the three charges, Forkan was given death sentence for the brutal rape and killing of the teenage Hindu girl, and the rape of the Muslim girl and killing of her father and two other civilians. He was given sentences of imprisonment for life till death for raping two Hindu women and forcing them to leave the country. Forkan was acquitted from the charge of killing four people, including two local Awami League (AL) leaders in Mirzaganj, and forceful religious conversion of three Hindu brothers in Subidkhali Bazar and their deportation.Forkan was an active supporter of the Muslim League (ML), an anti-liberation party in 1971. Later he was affiliated with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Additional Attorney General Murad Reza told the court that Samiun could not get bail since there were some serious allegations against him. Citing from the charge sheet, he told the court that Samiun entered Bangladesh to recruit and motivate young people to join IS for fighting in Syria. On November 5, 2014, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) indicted Abdul Latif, Sirajul Haque alias Siraj Master and Khan Akram Hossain of Bagerhat District on seven counts of crimes against humanity. On October 29, 2013, Salahuddin appealed to the SC against the verdict seeking acquittal of the charges.
