The United States (US) on May 12 reiterated its concern over the arrests of people in Bangladesh under the Digital Security Act, reports New Age. US Deputy National Security Adviser Matthew Pottinger expressed the concern and wanted to know about actions of the law enforcement agencies during a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen. In a tweet on May 8, US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Alice Wells at the Department of State expressed concern about arrests in Bangladesh under the Digital Security Act. She called on the Bangladesh Government to ensure so that individuals could exercise freedom of expression and opinion.
