Militants in the evening of September 28 shot dead a man working as daily wager in Rural Development Department and having close association with Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), Sabzar Ahmad Naikoo, in Nildoora village of Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir, reports Daily Excelsior. As per the report, his photo of joining BJP went viral on social media recently.
A youth who was injured due to an explosion after an encounter in the Sirhama area of Anantnag District of Jammu and Kashmir on September 25 succumbed to his injuries on September 28, reports Daily Excelsior. Four youths were injured in the explosion.
Militants in the evening of September 26 lobbed a grenade towards Security Forces (SFs) in Yaripora near bridge in Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir, reports Daily Excelsior. No loss of life or injury was reported in the attack.
Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on September 28 described that the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) ‘divisional commander’, Reyaz Ahmad Dar alias Khalid, who was killed in Awantipora area of Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir on September 27 was the longest surviving militant, reports Daily Excelsior. To a query on recruitment in South Kashmir, the DGP said that the graph is low compared to previous years. “In the past 15 days, three youth were brought back. And this year so far, 24 youth who had left homes and joined militancy, were brought back with the active cooperation of their parents,” he said.
