Two Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, including a woman - collectively carrying a reward of INR 1.2 million on their heads and allegedly involved in several incidents of violence in Maharashtra and other States have surrendered before Police in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on May 12, reports republicworld.com. Kolu alias Vikas alias Sukant Vinod Pada (27), a resident of Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh, and the woman Maoist, Raje alias Debo Jairam Usendi (30), a native of Gadchiroli District, turned themselves in before Superintendent of Police (SP), Ankit Goyal, Police said in a release. The release said the Maharashtra Government had announced a reward of INR 800,000 on Pada's head and INR 400,000 for information on Usendi. Pada joined the CPI-Maoist in September 2010 and later worked as a security guard of Maoists' ‘Central Committee (CC)’ member named Sudhakar, the Police said.
