Two Policemen were killed as unidentified assailants opened fire at them near Sabzi Mandi in Mingora town of Swat District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 8 (today), reports ARY News. The attackers managed to flee the scene.
One terrorist was killed while two others were injured in an exchange of fire with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Security Forces (SFs) in the Mattani area of Peshawar, the provincial capital of KP, on June 7, reports The Express Tribune. Addressing a news conference at CTD Headquarters, Peshawar CTD Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kashif Aftab Abbasi said that they had received information about the presence of some terrorists in the Mattani area, who were planning to carry out attacks in the city. The Peshawar CTD Police and SFs jointly raided the terrorists’ compound after which they opened fire on the police. In the retaliatory fire, one terrorist was killed while two were injured whereas their three accomplices managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.
