An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) constable of 53rd battalion was killed when cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) triggered an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) blast targeting the ITBP troopers who were returning from de-mining operation near Sonpur in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on February 24, reports The New Indian Express. According to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Mohit Garg, the ITBP constable of 53rd battalion N Bala Chami from Tamil Nadu was killed in the explosion detonated by the rebels.
The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres ambushed a team of District Reserve Guards (DRG) that was out on operation near Kukur village under Sonpur Police Station area in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on February 24, reports The New Indian Express. A trooper identified as Kaner Usendi was hit by bullet in his stomach and he succumbed to his injuries. The Maoist attack was swiftly retaliated by the forces following which the armed naxal cadres fled into the nearby forests.
A hardcore Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre was killed in an explosion in Amabeda forest in Kanker District of Chhattisgarh on February 24, reports Kalinga TV. According to reports, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED)was planted underground in order to attack the Security Forces (SFs) in Amabeda forest. In the explosion one Maoist charred to death whereas others sustained critical injuries, informed the Maoists through a poster. The spokesperson Sukhdev Kawde of North Bastar Division Committee expressed deep grief over the death of Comrade Sahadev Bedda.
A Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) constable identified as Bankeshwar Paikra sustained splinter injuries in a blast triggered by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres at a forest in Kukrajhar Police Station area in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on February 24, reports Outlook.
