Sumi Hoho, the apex Sumi tribal organization on urged Nagaland Governor R N Ravi to hold up the delimitation exercise until the Government's peace talks with Naga leaders reaches an amicable settlement, reports The Sentinel on May 30. In a statement by Hoho President Hekhushe Sikhu and General Secretary Nikheto Jimomi, the Hoho said that one of the major demands by the negotiating parties is increase of the legislature assembly seats, of which, if the Government of India consents, rearrangement of the present constituencies have to be carried out. The delimitation exercise is aimed at redrawing the boundaries of the various Assembly and Lok Sabha (lower house of Indian Parliament) constituencies.
