Sri Lanka Government on May 14 banned three Islamic radical organizations suspected to be involved in the Easter Sunday bombings, reports NewsIn Asia. The banned organisations are National Tawheed Jamaat (TMJ), Jammatei Millathu Ibraheem (JMI) and Willayat As Seylani (WAS). According to experts, these are inter-connected organizations. They were led by Zahran Hashim, who was one of the suicide bombers.
Additionally, to tackle threat of terrorism, President Maithripala Sirisena is slated to sign two agreements with China, one to get command and communication equipment and the other to get technology to defuse explosive ordnance, reports Newsin Asia. The agreements are to be inked during Sirisena’s visit to China from May 14-16.
