Security Forces on September 15 launched an operation in the Ganderbal District of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested three militant associates linked to Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), reports Daily Excelsior. Three hand grenades besides, incriminating materials including electronic gadgets were recovered from their possession. “Preliminary investigation reveals that the trio have come in contact with a Pak [Pakistan] based militant Fayaz Khan resident of Chanhar Gutlibagh who is at present in Pakistan and he had tasked them to join militant ranks and undertake militant activities and attacks on security forces in the area”, Police said.
Police on September 15 arrested a militant associate, identified as Shahid Hassain Dar, in the Handwara area of Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir, reports Daily Excelsior. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunitions were recovered from his possession.
On September 15, Security Forces arrested two militant associates of Al-Badr from Awantipora in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir, reports Daily Excelsior. The two militant associates were arrested at Ladhoo crossing while the duo was heading to Khrew (Pulwama) from Shopian (Shopian District) on a two-wheeler. Incriminating material of Al-Badr and cash amount of INR 600,000 meant for militant funding of Al-Badr was recovered from their possession.
