On September 20, Prime Minister (PM) Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that the cabinet meeting was called by the President Maithripala Sirisena himself to discuss the abolition of Executive Presidency, reportsDaily Mirror. Clarifying his stance in the meeting, PM said that the other parties were not in agreement for the abolishment of Executive Presidency even though civil society activists have been rooting for it.
