On May 9, president of Pumao village, Alai Wangsu, was reportedly abducted on gunpoint by two Yung Aung faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K-YA) militants from Pumao village in Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh, reports East Mojo. According to sources, self-styled ‘sergeant’ Abojak Wangnalow and self-styled ‘Lt.’ Wangjen Wangsaham abducted Wangsu and took towards Zangkham in Nagaland.
Meanwhile, on May 10, Gaon Burah Napho Boham of Lauksim village in Longding District was released from captivity following pressure from local villagers and security forces. Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) reported that Boham was kidnapped on gunpoint by NSCN-K-YA militants on May 8.
