A suspected militant was killed during an exchange of fire with Security Forces (SFs) in the Tump area of Kech District in Balochistan on May 25, reports Dawn. According to security officials, Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were passing by the Gomazai area of Tump when armed men opened fire on them. The FC personnel retaliated, and heavy exchange of fire continued for a while. As a result, an attacker was killed while the rest managed to escape. Security officials handed over the body to Levies for identification, who was identified as Mehrab Khan.
Meanwhile, death toll in the Pashtoonabad Rehmania mosque explosion in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, rose to four as one more person succumbed to his injuries, reports Dawn on May 26. Sources in the Bolan Medical College Hospital said that one injured who had received serious burns wounds in the blast died late on Friday (May 24) night. Police said on May 25 that an FIR had been registered against unknown terrorists by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) had reported, at least three people, including a prayer leader, were killed and 28 others injured in an explosion inside Rehmania mosque during the Friday sermon in Pashtoonabad area of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, on May 24.
