The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres vandalized the Forest Department’s properties in the Hathicamp area at Kamlapur village in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on May 20, reports Zee News. As per the report, the Forest department officials had decorated the area to boost tourism in the region. However, the Maoists, in large numbers reached the area and destroyed the properties and decamped with the CCTVs installed there.
Meanwhile, the Maoists had put up banners and leaflets at Kamlapur square in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra calling for a Bandh (general shutdown) in the District till May 22, reports The Week on May 22. As per the report, the Maoists have called for the District-wide Bandh to condemn the death of the woman rebel – Srujjanakka, who was killed in a gun-battle with Police on May 1.
