The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres killed a civilian, identified as Ramlu Vendja, on suspicion of being a ‘Police informer’ at Gongla village under Gangaloor Police Station limits in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on November 30, reports Outlook. The Maoists stormed into the house of Ramlu Vendja and took him away forcibly to a nearby secluded place and strangled him to death, said the Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamlochan Kashyap, while denying his connections with the Police.
Two civilians were injured after Maoists blew up a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) using an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Rajpenta village in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on December 1, reports Hindustan Times. “Two people, Mohammed Iqbal Ansari, the vehicle’s owner, and a motor mechanic Balram Pradhan were heading towards Tarrem village in a Tata Sumo, when Maoists triggered an IED and blew up the vehicle. The blast was a very powerful one due to which the vehicle was badly damaged,” said the Inspector General of Police (IG) Bastar, Sunderaj Patilingam.
