Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) cadres shot dead the head of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Eid Muhammad Hassani alias Eido, near Naurozabad road in Kharan town (Kharan District) of Balochistan on July 15, reports The Express Tribune. Two motorcyclists opened fire at Eid Muhammad Hassani and managed to escape. Eid Muhammad Hassani was serving as the head of the CTD in Kharan District and previously served on various important posts. BLA ‘spokesman’ Azad Baloch claimed the responsibility of the attack. He said in his statement that Eid Muhammad worked as Station House Officer (SHO) in Kharan Police Department for many years before joining CTD. While behind the scenes, he was being used as a pawn by Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Eido used his position and powers for ISI from the beginning. At the behest of the ISI, he used to monitor the movement of Baloch cadres and used to barricade the area. Apart from this, he has extra judicially handed over the Baloch youths to secret agencies on fabricated charges and other baseless grounds.
Separately, Security Forces (SFs) recovered the dead body of Omer Javed, the cousin of late Lieutenant Colonel Laiq Baig Mirza, during an operation linked with his abduction in Ziarat District on July 16, reports ARY News. Omer Javed, was abducted along with his cousin, Lt Col Laiq Baig Mirza, near Warchoom area of Ziarat District on July 12, as they were returning after paying a visit to the Quaid-e-Azam Residency. Lt Col Mirza was killed by the terrorists on July 14 as they were fleeing from SFs. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the body of Omar Javed was recovered five kilometres from Warchoom towards Khalifat Mountains in a nullah.
Meanwhile, BLA ‘spokesman’ Jeehand Baloch stated in a press release on July 16 that the military’s claim of killing their cadres during its so-called search operation around Ziarat and Harnai areas are merely propaganda tactics to hide its catastrophic failures in Balochistan, reports Radio Zrumbesh. After executing the special operation in Ziarat, the cadres of BLA’s Special Tactical Operations Squad successfully reached their desired destinations. In the whole operation not even a single fighter of BLA was injured or killed.
